  • Majority of the participants desire to attend follow-up training sessions in the future organized by the same group.
  • The database for the Nigerian Fisheries Resources (Freshwater, Marine and Brackish water Fisheries as well as Technical, Biological and Economic information information on Aquaculture in Nigeria) should be assembled.
  • There is need to source funding for future training workshops on 'FishBase and Biodiversity Management'.
  • There is need to encourage all relevant organizations and Institutions to share information in their custody with the network for decision-making about the development of Fisheries and Aquaculture in Nigeria for various objectives.
  • Investment activities in Fisheries and Aquaculture should be in line with research data and/or information such that the food security, sustainability of the enterprise as well environmental issues will be made based on true data sets.
  • FishBase and Biodiversity should be carried using a multi-disciplinary approach for maximum benefit to be achieved.
  • The Federal Department of Fisheries should follow-up on their application for support for the strengthening of Fisheries and Biodiversity Institutions in ACP Countries; Nigeria should be granted the status of establishing a Node for the training programme.
